Anyone who loves the sea and nature takes responsibility

Travelling on a sailing yacht allows us to experience the power of wind and waves and the fascination of being propelled solely by canvas. The beauty of nature is just as important to me and is sometimes truly moving. Anyone who has ever travelled in the company of dolphins or seen a wide variety of fish or even turtles and rays while anchoring can certainly understand this.
Unfortunately, this year, especially in Croatia, I had the feeling that the number of animals to be observed was decreasing. Sometimes we didn't see any fish at all in anchor bays.
I find it shocking that, despite all efforts to educate water sports enthusiasts about the sensitivity of our ecosystem, there are still people who react with recklessness and a lack of understanding. In Sardinia, following the introduction of restrictions, such as the ban on anchoring at night in the La Maddalena Nature Park, a cancellation of the measures was obtained, which will be renegotiated at the beginning of 2026. Instead of everyone pulling themselves together and behaving responsibly, I was able to observe a motorboat driver hanging tufts of seaweed from his anchor and thus destroying the habitat of our sea creatures. On Navily, users complain in the best concerned citizen jargon that eco-terrorists are destroying almost all anchoring opportunities. Even if you could accept that someone doesn't care about these things, as a water sports enthusiast you should know that a seagrass meadow offers very poor anchorage. An intelligent person would therefore be happy to get an overview of where it is best to drop anchor via many apps such as PosidoniaMaps or Donia.
With education you can reach some, hopefully even many people. Where this is not possible, we have to act in other ways. I am very grateful to Greenpeace for the fact that courageous people are putting themselves in the most dangerous situations in order to stop the destruction of this habitat.
That's why I support Greenpeace by sponsoring the oceans.
